The Kings or Oilers will suffer a drought Saturday night. The Oilers haven’t won a playoff series since 2017, while the Kings’ last series win was the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals.
The Oilers were able to force a Game 7 by defeating the Kings in Game 6 behind two goals from Evander Kane. The second was an empty net after which Kane triumphantly held up seven fingers to the Los Angeles faithful to celebrate the 4-2 win.
The Oilers still have the best player in this series in Connor McDavid, and he lives up to the bill. McDavid had three points in Edmonton’s Game 6 win and leads the NHL this postseason with 12 points.
The Kings, meanwhile, have been getting points up and down the lineup. Phillip Denault and Trevor Moore lead with five each. LA will need someone to step up and stand out to compete with Edmonton’s top talent in a crucial game.
