Avatar: The Way of Water

Originally only seen in theaters ahead of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness screenings, the first teaser for the 2009 sequel to Avatar hit the internet this week.
Given how tremendously successful the first film was and how long it took for its sequel to be completed, The Way of Water has become a source of fascination for film lovers.
However, the wait for the sequel seems worth it, as the teaser boasts groundbreaking special effects, epic graphics, and a beautiful, rousing score.
Avatar: The Way of Water hits Irish cinemas on December 16th.

We’ve written about the Elvis trailer before, but a clip of it was released recently – so viewers can learn a little bit more about what to expect from the biopic.
The footage shows the legendary singer (played by Austin Butler) early in his career on stage, mesmerizing the crowd and capturing the attention of his future manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks).
Co-written and directed by Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet), Elvis hits Irish cinemas on 24th June.

Following his recent stellar performances in The Meyerowitz Stories and Uncut Gems, Adam Sandler has landed another dramatic role in this Netflix sports film.
Hustle witnesses the Sandman prank his lucky basketball scout, who spots a one-time player overseas and takes it upon himself to bring the potential star to the United States.
Produced by LeBron James, the film will be released on the streamer on June 8th.
resurrection

In this horror thriller, Rebecca Hall plays a woman whose orderly life is thrown into disarray when a man (Tim Roth) returns from her past.
With a score of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes after its Sundance premiere earlier this year, Resurrection has one of the most enigmatic and suspenseful trailers we’ve seen in a long time.
It’s out on August 5th in the US, so you can expect an Irish release some time later.
Cha Cha Real smooth

Writer-director Cooper Raiff (the excellent coming-of-age drama Freshman Year) stars as the host of a bar mitzvah party in this comedy drama.
Through his job, he forms a friendship with a mother (Dakota Johnson) and her autistic daughter (Vanessa Burghardt).
Cha Cha Real Smooth, another film that premiered at Sundance to rave reviews, will be released June 17 on Apple TV+.
The princess

Following the release of the Oscar-nominated drama Spencer last year, this documentary is another film about Princess Diana – this time she tells her story using only contemporary archive footage.
“When we turn the camera back on ourselves, the film illuminates the profound impact she had and how these events shaped, and continue to shape, public attitudes towards the monarchy,” reads the plot synopsis of The Princess “.
From the producers of such acclaimed documentaries as Man on Wire and Searching for Sugar Man, The Princess will be in Irish cinemas for just one night on 30 June.
resident Evil

Last but not least, we have Netflix’s TV adaptation of the popular video game series Resident Evil.
Told in two timelines, the show follows Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska, Charlie’s Angels), a woman struggling to survive in a world overrun by bloodthirsty people and animals while her past haunts New Raccoon City will.
It consists of eight episodes and will premiere on the streamer on July 14.
