That resident Evil The gaming franchise made a fairly successful transition to the big screen, at the box office, with the Milla Jovovich-led film series, albeit without critical and fan acclaim. After pretty much dropping all links to the games in all but a few character names and a very broad overview, the resident Evil Movies have their followers, but fans of the games still wanted more. Recently, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City attempted to reboot the films and merge the storylines of the first two games into a story that was filled with Easter eggs but still divided fans. Now we’re just a month away from another new take on the franchise, but this time in a Netflix TV series that promises plenty of ties to the original games.
That resident Evil The TV series has just released a double trailer and show creator Andrew Dabb has revealed that everything that happens in the games is canon of the TV series and we will see many familiar creatures as well as some new ones in the series. The story takes place in the years 2022 and 2036 and sees Albert Wesker move to New Raccoon City with his half-twin children. With Wesker having a long history with the town, it doesn’t take long before the mysterious Umbrella Corporation unleashes dark experiments and once again things start to go really wrong.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Dabb made it clear that the resident Evil The series will feature all released games, but not in the first season. With things already moving into a second season, it’s clear that Dabb has some ambitious plans if he gets to pull them off. He said:
“The games are our backstory. Everything that happens in the games exists in this world. We may not get it [to Resident Evil Village] until Season 5, but it’s in our world. As we go ahead and talk about scripts for Season 2, the village is a resource to draw on.”
resident Evil Will tell a familiar story from a new perspective
The world of resident Evil We know from the games, deadly T-Virus, zombies, face-sucking beasts and giant abominations that they will all be a factor in the new Netflix series, but the most important thing about this show is that it will be a new story tell what is happening in this world and not repeat what has already been done.
One of the most fascinating aspects of this new version of the resident Evil franchise is that it will run with two timelines a decade apart. One will likely see the start of troubles caused by the Umbrella Corporation, while the second will see the world in chaos after being taken over by monstrous creatures as a result of their actions. The official synopsis of the series explains:
“Year 2036 – 14 years after Joy caused so much pain, Jade Wesker fights to survive in a world overrun by bloodthirsty infected and mind-bending creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her New Raccoon City past, her father’s chilling connections to the sinister Umbrella Corporation, but most importantly, what happened to her sister, Billie.”
