The actor reportedly died in his sleep while working on a new film project in the Dominican Republic.

Ray took to Instagram three days before his death to gush about his upcoming film ‘Cocaine Bear’, which follows the zany £500 film story. Bear who swallows cocaine and goes on a rampage, putting an entire city in danger.

His last social media post, shared on May 3, was a screenshot of a headline confirming news about one of his films.

The caption read, “Elizabeth Banks’ ‘Cocaine Bear’ Set for Theatrical Release February 2023.”

The actor reportedly died in his sleep while working on a new film project in the Dominican Republic.

Ray was set to star in the film and shared a brief synopsis with fans, in which he wrote, “Cocaine Bear follows a strange group of cops, criminals, tourists and teenagers who come together in a Georgia forest where a 500- Pound Apex Predator has ingested an amazing amount of the white powder and rampages with coke in search of more punch – and blood.”

Fans expressed excitement in the comments and sent congratulatory messages to the star.

“This movie sounds wild!” One fan wrote, while another commented: “Great cast! Congratulations !!”

A third added: “A must see it seems to be one of my favorite actors Ray Liotta.”

The famous actor’s career breakthrough came in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 crime classic Goodfellas, after starring in Field of Dreams.

At the time of his death, he was filming the film Dangerous Waters, having enjoyed a career upswing in recent years.

Recently he has acted in films such as The Many Saints of Newark, Marriage Story – for which he received an Indie Spirit Award for his cast in 2020 – and No Sudden Move.

He completed Cocaine Bear, directed by Elizabeth Banks, and was set to star in the working title film The Substance opposite Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley.

Liotta leaves behind a daughter, Karsen. He was engaged to be married to Jacy Nittolo.

Deadline claimed the star died in his sleep but gave no reason, while TMZ claimed there was no suspicion of foul play.

He was last publicly pictured at the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, California in early May.

The legendary actor was born in New Jersey in 1954 and was abandoned in an orphanage.

When he was six months old, he was adopted by parish clerk Mary and auto parts store owner Alfred Liotta.
