Natalie Portman on getting fired for Thor: Love And Thunder

Natalie Portman spoke about training for her return as Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder.

When Natalie Portman returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jane Foster Thor: Love and Thunder, she will look a little different. This is because Portmans will wield Jane Mjolnir in the time to come Thor Film that follows a popular storyline created by Jason Aaron in the comics.

When setting photos off Thor: Love and Thunder first appeared with Natalie Portman, fans were quick to note that she would definitely be hitting the gym for her return to the MCU. When speaking to total moviePortman opened up about becoming a Mighty Thor and the training that goes with it:

“It’s exciting to be a superhero. And there’s no guide to come along and tell you how. I trained long before and during and did all the protein shakes [thing]. It really helped prepare me for the level of action that we ended up doing. We had incredible stunt doubles doing the really hard stuff, but there’s still a lot of running and jumping and swords and hammer fighting. Being strong definitely helped. To support the weight of the cloak all day you need to have some upper body strength.

The film follows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey he has never known before – a quest for inner peace. But his retreat is interrupted by a galactic assassin named Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the annihilation of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer Mjolnir as the mighty one Thor.
