UFC Fight Night will be held on Saturday, June 18th at the Moody Center in Austin, TX. One of the bouts on the preliminary card features Cage veteran Court McGee vs. Jeremiah Wells at welterweight.
McGee (21-10) has been with the UFC since 2010 when he won season 11 of Ultimate Fighter as a member of Chuck Liddell’s team. He’s had a stellar career in the Octagon and has settled into the division primarily as a tough gatekeeper. McGee has had a couple of straight wins after it looked like he might be at the end of his run. Wells (10-2-1) has won his two UFC fights with early stoppages. He packs a lot of power into his standup, but his takedown defense will come under fire against McGee. A win for Wells would be a nice step forward in becoming a welterweight contender.

This is expected to be a close match with tight betting odds on both sides. McGee is a tough hit and a tough matchup for Wells. He’ll continue to come up with takedowns and has enough gas in the tank to play three rounds hard. Wells has to crack McGee early and get him off track. McGee’s last nine fights have come a long way and Wells is set for a three-round fight. I think Wells gets some good shots from McGee early on and makes a split decision in a very entertaining clash of styles.
