Liverpool travel to Aston Villa to keep Premier League title race alive with Manchester City Liverpool lost ground to the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at the weekend and are three points behind City with a lower goal difference with three games remaining. Both title rivals are in action midweek, with City in Wolverhampton on Wednesday. If Liverpool lose to the team managed by Steven Gerrard, the Anfield great, City could win by six points with a win against Wolves with two games to go. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp must weigh whether to give his players a break amid a hectic schedule ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final against Chelsea. Villa is in 11th place.
SPAIN
Real Betis visit Valencia in midfield to end a four-game winning streak in La Liga and maintain their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League. Manuel Pellegrini’s side have lost two of their last four league games and sit fifth with three rounds to go, six points behind fourth-placed Atlético Madrid. It will be a repeat of the Copa del Rey final that Betis won against Valencia on penalties last month. Barcelona welcome Celta Vigo and try to secure second place and a spot in the Spanish Supercup. The Catalan club are four points clear of third-placed Sevilla. Granada are looking to move further from the relegation zone as they host eighth-placed Athletic Bilbao. Granada is two points from safety.
