La Liga enters its 36th round this week as each team has just three games left to play. Real Madrid have already secured the league title as they sit 12 points clear of second-placed Barcelona and both teams have also secured their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League group stage. Third and fourth places are up for grabs, although Sevilla and Atletico Madrid occupy the spots before Matchday 36.
While you can’t catch many La Liga games on network TV, all 380 league games are streamed live on ESPN+. Select games will also be broadcast over their ESPN networks, but if you really want to watch your game of choice, ESPN+ is the way to go. If you haven’t already signed up for ESPN+, they offer a reasonable price of $5.99/month, or you can also sign up for a Disney+ and Hulu bundle.
Real Sociedad, currently just two points behind Real Betis in sixth place, will take on Cadiz on Thursday in hopes of clinching all three points. Should Betis lose to Valencia, a win for Sociedad would put them in fifth place, which will mean an automatic spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League group stage. Real Sociedad suffered a major bump when Mikel Oyarzabal tore his cruciate ligament during training in March. He remains the team’s top scorer with nine goals this season, which is counting on other players like Alexander Isak and Adnan Januzaj to fill the gap.
Sociedad are in the midst of a four-game winless slip, but they will look to reverse it against 16th-placed Cadiz on Thursday, with kick-off scheduled for 1pm ET. Real Sociedad are favored at -145 odds, while Cadiz is on the board at +450 at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Having enjoyed a deep UCL run this season before being eliminated by Liverpool in the semi-finals, Villarreal are still chasing European competition as they sit in seventh place, just three points behind Real Sociedad. Sixth-placed earns a place in Europa Conference League qualifiers, meaning Villarreal will look to take all three points from Rayo Vallecano on Thursday. They have a comfortable lead on goal difference tie-breaks over Real Sociedad, so a win over Vallecano combined with a loss to Sociedad would put them in sixth place.
Villarreal are favored at -125 odds, while Vallecano is at +340. This match begins at 2:00 PM ET on Thursday, May 12th.
