Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal sign rookie contracts with the New York Giants

The New York Giants tied for 5th overall Kayvon Thibodeaux and No. 7 pick Evan Neal, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero. Both will sign their rookie contracts during minicamp on Saturday.

Thibodeaux’s proposed deal is a four-year deal worth $31.34 million with a $19.97 million signing bonus, according to Spotrac. Neal’s proposed deal is valued at $24.55 million over four years with a $15.04 million signing bonus. Both deals include a fifth-year option. Official contract terms, including guaranteed money, are not yet known.

“I’m enjoying every moment,” Thibodeaux said Friday after the Giants’ rookie minicamp. “If you’ve been through it all and your life has brought you to this point, MetLife, the American Dream, the New York Giants. Are you serious? You know what I mean?”

During his final season in Oregon, Thibodeaux amassed 49 tackles (35 solo) along with seven sacks and two forced fumbles while helping the Ducks win the Pac-12 North. During his career, which saw action in 30 games, he finished the tournament with 126 total tackles, 84 solo tackles, and 35.5 tackles to a loss. He also stacked 19 sacks and forced three fumbles.

From Thousand Oaks (California), Oaks Christian, Thibodeaux was #2 overall according to the industry-compiled 247Sports Composite. He was also No. 2 on the weak side of defensive end, No. 1 in California state, and No. 49 all-time.

After a distinguished career in Alabama, Neal has the ability to be a cornerstone on an NFL offensive line for years to come. Few offensive linemen in this year’s draft class are as successful as Neal. It began in 2019, Neal’s true freshman season, in which he started all 13 games before receiving freshman All-American honors from 247Sports.
