Hulu also got the rights to stream Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo in both years.
AUSTIN, Texas — Earlier this week, the Austin City Limits Music Festival released the lineup for October’s event. But if you want to enjoy the performances without the crowds, you’re in luck.
Hulu announced Thursday that it will stream C3 Presents’ three biggest festivals — ACL, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza — in 2022 and 2023, respectively. The collaboration is a partnership between Hulu and Live Nation.
Hulu streamed Lollapalooza last year but has never streamed ACL or Bonnaroo. This year, Bonnaroo starts June 16th in Manchester, Tennessee, followed by Lollapalooza, which starts July 28th in Chicago, and ACL, which starts October 7th at Zilker Park in Austin.
Hulu will stream select performances exclusively to Hulu SVOD subscribers at no additional cost. Additional behind-the-scenes footage and unique footage will also be available to subscribers. Specific live stream schedules will be announced in the weeks leading up to each event and two different live feeds will be available for each festival from Friday through Sunday, with an additional feed for Thursday’s shows for Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.
“The demand for live music is at an all-time high and the live experience has never been so connected to digital,” said Charlie Walker, Partner at C3 Presents. “By expanding our partnership with Hulu, even more fans can follow each of these incredible festival experiences in real-time and enjoy live performances from their favorite artists with fans on the spot.”
This year’s ACL Fest takes place from October 7th to 9th and from October 14th to 16th. Headliners include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, P!nk, The Chicks and Lil Nas X. Other big names set to perform include Kacey Musgraves, SZA, Flume and Paramore.
The three-day tickets went on sale on Tuesday. At 4:45 p.m., less than five hours after the start of sales, the 3-day tickets for Weekend 1 were sold out. For weekend 2, 3-day tickets are still available from 9 a.m. on May 13, day tickets for both weekends will be published at a later date.
