Film 4 is set in White Christmas as Brits struggle through the heatwave

Movie 4 seems to be laughing when you look at the movies they play today, but it’s just a coincidence.

At 11 a.m. the broadcaster scheduled the Christmas film white Christmas to air and it has never felt less fitting.

Not only is it July, not exactly a month, when Christmas films are particularly well-watched, the UK is also in the midst of a heatwave, with temperatures forecast to reach 42C in some areas of the country, and the Met bureau is giving red weather alerts out to keep everyone safe.

People do their best to keep their cool and have also taken to the internet to share memes about how hot it is.

If only it would snow now…

When people spotted the posts, they found it quite amusing and took to Twitter to share their thoughts:

A spokesman for the station said it was all a coincidence. They said: “The film was scheduled ten days ago so it’s totally coincidental that it ran during the current heatwave but we hope viewers enjoyed it.”
