Euphoria star Eric Dane says the show’s success surprised everyone

One of the most popular TV shows today would surely be HBO euphoria. Created by Sam Levinson, the series debuted on HBO in 2019 and only premiered its second season earlier this year. The show has already been renewed for a third season due to its continued success as it is now the second most-watched series in HBO history game of Thrones. Obviously love the fans euphoriaand the show is here to stay.

MovieWeb recently spoke to the series star Eric Dane about his new movie The ravine in an exclusive interview. We also asked euphoria, and Dane couldn’t tell us anything about Season 3 to be expected, but he was able to comment on the show’s impressive success. While everyone involved is happy with the awards and high viewership, Dane says it was a pleasant surprise to see euphoria resonate so well with viewers and exceed cast and crew expectations.

“I don’t think anyone can expect that much success. Of course it’s really great when you get there. But I think, to answer your question, it exceeded any expectations we all had.”

In addition to extremely high viewership euphoria has also received numerous awards. In 2020, a then 24-year-old Zendaya set the record as the youngest recipient of a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Season two is currently up for Best Show nominations at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, alongside other nominations. It came as no surprise when HBO renewed the series for a third season in February, although viewers will find it difficult to wait for the new episodes. Let’s just hope the wait isn’t as long as it was between seasons one and two.
